Geology

It is normal for a mine to be subterranean. Another factor that leads to the fascination for a mine is: Exploration and adventureism is not only for the joy of the children who visit this small underground world.

Not history alone is an important part of such a guided tour.
Nowhere else can geology become more apparent than underneath the earth.
On a guided tour it will be explained how the slate developed, why the Rechter slate is something special and how other rock formations came into the mine. How did the colour come into the stone, why are some hard and others soft and why can stone sharpen knives. These are only some questions that will be answered by means of examples. Thus earth historical and geological connections can be understood. Special guided tours for children are in preparation.
